Emerging Stars Soccer Talent Academy held a scouting session at St. Mary’s School in Nairobi and it was open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 18 years. Seeking to improve the quality of the game and open young players to a world of opportunities, celebrated footballer and former player of the KPL Ronald Okoth, was on hand to offer guidance and coaching the young players who were in attendance.
“We want to mold young players to not only be professional footballers but also well-educated individuals and that’s part of the reason we have partnered with St. Mary’s School to see what’s in store in terms of scholarships for the young players,” said Okoth who was recently unveiled as Emerging Stars Soccer Academy’s brand ambassador.
The Emerging Stars Soccer Talent Academy has a vision for Kenyan football and they want to stamp their presence through a holistic approach and effective professionalism. Backed by an extensive international network, the organization will strive to identify and nurture talented players from all over the country.
“We absolutely insist on developing football talent but we also want to churn out individuals who are well-rounded and can fit in and play football in any possible environment,” the academy’s Founder and Director, Beatrice Gambo had that to say. “We have talked with various parents who said that they have taken their children to other academies, and there has been little to write home about.”
The academy has held several tournaments, exposing youth to a wide network of international scouts. “We had a tournament in 2019 and the scouts who were present were very impressed by the talents exhibited in Nairobi and Mombasa. Therefore, we intend to host more tournaments so we can bring in scouts so they can pick talents and take our kids out to international clubs,” she added.
The Emerging Stars Soccer Talent Academy will be holding more workshops across the country, to plug in what they have across the country and to enable boys and girls to showcase their talents as well as walk with them to their journey of professional football.
