With the Tokyo Olympics just days away, President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside CS for Sports, Heritage and Culture Amina Mohamed, hosted Team Kenya and Safaricom PLC CEO Peter Ndegwa at Statehouse Nairobi for the official flag handover ceremony and unveiling of the Olympic kit for the team that will represent Kenya at the Tokyo Olympics!
Safaricom sponsored the kits that will be worn at the official opening ceremony. The outfits, however, left some Kenyans less than impressed. Below are some of their reactions to the official team kit designs:
Not all reviews were bad – Tusker Lager did design the team’s travel kits, and those are seemingly more stylish and were received with a lot more grace. Sample some feedback below:
Nike is the official designer for Team Kenya’s sporting gear; the Kenyan athletes will be wearing the U.S. brand all through the competitions. The games kick off on the 23rd of July and will run until 8th August, 2021. We are sending all our support to the athletes, Go TEAM KENYA!
